Customer Build #1 | 2021 Proud Rhino Defender 110 | Stage 2

Posted by Chris Jeyes on

This stunning, black-on-black 2021 Defender 110 was sent to us by a customer in Nebraska to get the full Proud Rhino Stage 2 upgrade. Focused on protecting the vehicle while enhancing the capability, Stage 2 builds get our most popular upgrades and elevates the Defender 110's off-road performance.

We started with a set of Proud Rhino rock sliders to protect the sills from potential trail damage. With the sliders in place, we installed a set of Proud Rhino 2" Lift Rods giving the vehicle significantly more clearance.  To enhance the traction and complete the look, a set Redbourne Morlands were fitted with 275/60/20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

* This tire and wheel combo required some minor bumper trimming.

Moving up front, we installed a Proud Rhino Stealth Pack Winch Kit. The kit includes a hidden winch tray, Warn Zeon 10s winch, Factor 55 ultra hook, and a 1.5in fairlead. Integrating the winch as we have means significantly less road noise and a much cleaner OEM+ look.

For this build, the owner wanted to e the volume of additional fuel and coolant they could carry on longer journeys. We installed a side-mounted Rotopax kit that maximizes carrying capacity in a compact footprint. *Water jug shown

Extra lighting is a must on late-night adventures. Working with the owner we selected the yellow tinted Baja Designs LP9 to fit on our Proud Rhino Lightbar.  Each of these lights packs a massive 6500 lumens of output via 9 forward projecting LEDs, plus 6 Integrated Peripheral Technology (IPT) LEDs (the IPT provides an incredible 200° spread of usable light). We'll just say they'll light up the darkest of trails.

At the rear of the vehicle, our Proud Rhino Ladder will make accessing the roof an easy and safe process.

We really love how this one turned out.  The spec was perfect for some of the choices the owner made and we think they're going to have a helluva time getting this dirty.

  • I really like the winch kit and how it finished. It looks designed, clean and protected. As much as I like older Discoveries with steel guards, this contemporary look really works. Bravo!
