LR066422 Rear Silencer Tail Pipe Defender 110 130 Td5 TDCi

LR066422 is the rear exhaust silencer and tail pipe for the Land Rover Defender 110 and the Defender 130. It is the last section of the system, where the gas is quietened before it leaves the vehicle, and it is the section that usually needs replacing first.

Land Rover revised this number three times over the life of the part. LR066422 is the number in current use and it replaces WCG103020, WCG102950 and WCG102800, so an older number on a parts invoice or in a workshop manual still leads to this same rear section.

Fitment covers both wheelbases, which is worth knowing because the 130 is easy to miss. On vehicles through 2006 it is the 2.5 liter Td5, and on the 2007 to 2016 Defender it fits by wheelbase rather than by engine.

A tired rear silencer announces itself long before it finally lets go, and replacing the rear section on its own costs a great deal less than a full system when the pipework ahead of it is still sound.
