FUCAKWPB Front Polybush Upper Control Arm Kit w/ Hardware

The FUCAKWPB is our front upper control arm kit for the Discovery 3 LR3 and the Discovery 4 LR4, and it is built the way we would build it for our own Rover. You get both upper arms, the Polybush polyurethane bushes, and the fitting hardware for each side, in one box.

What makes this kit different is that we do not just hand you a pair of arms with the rubber bushes they came with. We start with the arms, then fit the Polybush polyurethane bushes in place of the rubber, so the arm you bolt on is already set up the way it should be. Rubber bushes are what fail first on these, and they are what put the clunk in the front end and the wander in the steering.

Polyurethane holds its shape where rubber goes soft. It keeps the suspension geometry where the factory put it, it shrugs off oil and road salt, and it lasts several times as long as the rubber bush it replaces. The trade is a slightly firmer feel, which most owners never notice and the ones who do tend to like.

The hardware is in the box too, and that matters more than it sounds. Control arm bolts are one time use. Reusing a stretched bolt is how a fresh arm ends up creaking six months later, so there is a full fitting kit here for each side.

This kit covers the front upper arms on both sides, left and right. It does not include the lower arms, which we sell as their own kit under LCAKWPB.

Kit contents. One front right upper control arm, part number RBJ500222. One front left upper control arm, part number RBJ500232. One Polybush front upper wishbone bush kit, part number LR056964PY. Two fitting bolt kits, one per side, part number DA7212, also sold as TF7212.

Torque the fasteners at normal ride height, not with the suspension hanging, and get a four wheel alignment afterward. Skip either one and you will be buying tires sooner than you should.

Why polyurethane instead of the rubber bushes?

Do I need the lower arms too?

Not necessarily. This kit is the front uppers only. If your lowers are also worn we sell that kit separately as LCAKWPB.
