Addicted Motors Rover V8 Cooling Kit Discovery Defender RRC
Keeping the Rover V8 cool is one of the best things you can do for its longevity, and this kit bundles the three upgrades that make the biggest difference into one package. Our friend Troy at Addicted Motors put this combination together, and we are proud to offer it as the Addicted Motors Cooling Kit. Troy chose each piece to work together so your Rover runs cooler and steadier, whether you are crawling slowly off road, sitting in summer traffic, or working the engine hard on the highway.
The kit includes three parts. First is the FlowKooler 180 degree low temperature thermostat, part number FKETC4765KIT, which opens at 82°C (180°F) instead of the factory 88°C (190°F) so coolant starts moving to the radiator sooner. It replaces the Genuine Land Rover ETC4765 and includes a gasket. Second is the FlowKooler high flow water pump, part number FCSTC4378KIT, built with a CNC machined billet impeller that moves more coolant and builds more pressure than a standard pump, which is exactly what the aluminum V8 needs at low engine speed. It replaces STC4378 and also includes a gasket. Third is the Hayden severe duty fan clutch, part number HAYERR4996, a thermal unit that locks up harder as the radiator heats to pull far more air through the core. It replaces the ERR4996 and ERR3443 viscous couplings.
Together these three parts attack the V8's tendency to run warm from every angle. The thermostat lowers the target temperature, the pump increases coolant flow, and the fan clutch increases airflow. It is a simple, proven combination and a great way to keep your Rover cool.
This kit is built for the serpentine belt Rover V8. It fits the Discovery I, the 1995 serpentine belt Range Rover Classic, and the 1997 Defender 90.

[FAQ]
What comes in the Addicted Motors Cooling Kit?
You get three parts, the FlowKooler 180 degree low temperature thermostat (FKETC4765KIT), the FlowKooler high flow water pump (FCSTC4378KIT), and the Hayden severe duty fan clutch (HAYERR4996). Together they lower the operating temperature, raise coolant flow, and pull more air through the radiator, which is the most effective way to address the Rover V8's tendency to run warm.
Will this kit fit my Discovery II or Range Rover P38?
The high flow pump and the severe duty fan clutch do fit those Rovers, but the 180 degree thermostat in this kit is the earlier ETC4765 style that fits the Discovery I, the 1995 serpentine Range Rover Classic, and the 1997 Defender 90. The Discovery II and P38 use a different thermostat, so reach out to us before ordering and we will point you to the right low temperature thermostat for your Rover.
Does the kit include gaskets?
Yes. Both FlowKooler parts come with a gasket, so the thermostat gasket and the water pump gasket are both in the box. Just make sure the sealing surfaces are clean and dry and use fresh coolant when you put everything back together.
