Genuine LR018274 Water Inlet Tube Kit Range Rover L405 L494
The Genuine version brings the current factory service parts together so the repair is done the way Land Rover now specifies, without tracking down each number on its own. It includes the Genuine LR090630 water inlet tube, which links the thermostat housing to the top coolant hose, the Genuine LR092992 lower water pipe, which completes the split Y path to the block, and the Genuine LR011038 plug used to close off the unused port left behind by the earlier one piece layout. Together they replace LR018274 and every number in its supersession chain.
The aluminum upgraded version follows the same upper and lower split design but replaces the molded tubes with aluminum sections. Aluminum stands up well to the constant heat and pressure cycling inside the engine valley, making this version a strong choice for owners planning to keep their Rover for the long haul or who have already replaced these tubes before.
These tubes live in the hottest part of the engine bay, sitting in the valley of the supercharged 5.0 liter AJ133 V8 and 3.0 liter AJ126 V6. Years of heat cycling leave the plastic brittle, and a cracked inlet tube is one of the more common sources of coolant loss, low coolant warnings, and overheating on these Rovers. Catching it early protects the engine from far more expensive trouble, whichever version you choose.
Installation is the same for both versions. It requires draining the cooling system and removing the supercharger cover and surrounding components for access, so it is a job best suited to an experienced home mechanic or a shop. Fit new O rings where specified, refill with the correct Land Rover coolant, and bleed the system following the factory procedure before checking for leaks at operating temperature.

Why does this kit contain separate pieces instead of one tube like the original LR018274?
Land Rover discontinued the one piece LR018274 and its follow up numbers, LR036661 and LR050934. The current factory repair uses a separate upper tube and lower pipe, plus a plug to seal the port the old design used, and this kit packages all three Genuine parts together.
Will this kit fit my Range Rover with the supercharged engine?
It is intended for supercharged 5.0 liter AJ133 V8 and 3.0 liter AJ126 V6 petrol/gas engines in the Range Rover L322, L405, Range Rover Sport L320, L494, and Range Rover Velar L560 within the years listed above. Checking your VIN against the parts catalog before ordering is always the surest way to confirm.
Is this a difficult repair?
The parts themselves go in straightforwardly, but access takes time because the tubes sit in the engine valley beneath the supercharger area. Plan on draining the coolant, removing surrounding components, and bleeding the system afterward using the factory procedure.
