Iconisus Forged Double Slot Wheel Defender L663 18 or 20

These are Iconisus forged Double Slot wheels for the Land Rover Defender L663, sold individually so you can buy four, buy five with a matching spare, or replace a single damaged wheel without starting over. Choose 18 x 9 inches or 20 x 9.5 inches, in black or in a two tone finish. Within each size both finishes are the same price.

Important note on the 18 inch wheel. It fits the P300 as supplied. On a P400 the 18 inch wheel clears the front caliper but not the rear, so it fits only alongside our P400 rear caliper conversion kit, part number DEF2RBCK. On the V8 and the OCTA the 18 inch wheel will not clear the front caliper and does not fit at all. If you are running anything other than a P300, the 20 x 9.5 inch wheel is the simpler answer, and it fits every L663.

Iconisus is a forged wheel maker with a dedicated Land Rover line, and forging is the reason to choose a wheel like this over a cast one. A forged wheel is pressed from a single billet under enormous pressure, which aligns the grain of the alloy rather than leaving the random structure a casting has. The result is a wheel that is both lighter and stronger than a cast wheel of the same design, and lighter wheels are unsprung weight, which is the weight that matters most to how a vehicle rides and steers.

That matters more on an L663 than on most vehicles. It is a heavy machine with a lot of suspension travel, and every pound taken off each corner is a pound the dampers no longer have to control.

The 18 x 9 inch wheel runs a zero offset, written ET0, which pushes the wheel outboard compared with the factory wheels and gives the vehicle a wider, squarer stance.

The 20 x 9.5 inch wheel runs a 25mm (0.98 in) offset, written ET25, and needs no wheel spacers. In this size the wheel is set up for a 275/55/20 or a 305/50/20 tire, which covers both the factory sized replacement and the taller, wider look most owners are after.

Both sizes take your factory wheel nuts and center caps, so nothing extra is required to mount them. This is a wheel for the current Defender L663 only. It is not for the classic Defender, which uses a different bolt pattern.

Buying by the single wheel is the practical part. Most wheel sellers force you into a set of four, which is no help when you have kerbed one, cracked one on a pothole, or want a fifth to match on the rear door carrier. Order the quantity you actually need.

Part numbers by size and finish. The 18 x 9 inch wheel is DBSLOTB18 in black and DBSLOT2TONE18 in two tone. The 20 x 9.5 inch wheel is DBSLOTB20 in black and DBSLOT2TONE20 in two tone. Kits of five are available separately under DBSLOTBLACK18SET5 and DBSLOTBLACK20SET5 in all black, and SBGDS18K5 and SBGDS20K5 in two tone.

Will the 18 inch wheel fit my Defender?

As supplied it fits the P300 only. A P400 can run the 18 inch wheel together with our P400 rear caliper conversion kit, part number DEF2RBCK, which clears the rear caliper. The V8 and the OCTA cannot run the 18 inch wheel at all, because it will not clear the front caliper and no caliper kit changes that. The 20 x 9.5 inch wheel fits every L663 regardless of engine.

Is this one wheel or a set?

One wheel. Order the quantity you need, whether that is a single replacement, a set of four, or five with a matching spare. Kits of five are available separately.
