DA2142 – Automatic Transmission Filter Conversion Kit (ZF 6-Speed)

  • $207.88

Steel Pan Upgrade for ZF 6HP26 – Fits Discovery, Range Rover, and Sport

If you’ve ever done a fluid and filter change on a ZF 6-speed, you know it’s a pain. From the factory, the transmission filter and sump are one piece—meaning to replace it, you’re stuck lifting the engine, unbolting mounts, and pulling the exhaust.

The DA2142 conversion kit eliminates all that hassle. Designed to fit the ZF 6HP26 transmission, this kit includes a separate steel sump pan and replaceable filter that makes servicing your transmission a whole lot easier—and smarter.

Once the old fluid is drained, just cut the old filter tube, slide the plastic sump out, fit the new filter, and bolt up the steel pan with the included gasket. That’s it. No engine hoisting, no exhaust removal, no drama.

Also worth noting: ZF recommends changing fluid and filter every 50,000–75,000 miles to maintain proper shift quality and prevent long-term wear. This kit makes that possible without the usual 4-hour fight.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Do I need to remove the exhaust or engine mounts to install this?
A: No — this kit is designed to avoid all of that. Just drain, cut the old tube, remove, and install.

Q: What fluid should I use?
A: ZF Lifeguard 6 or a high-quality equivalent that meets the same spec.

Q: How many liters of fluid does the job require?
A: You’ll need about 7 liters for a proper service.

Q: Is this better than the factory-style pan?
A: Yes — the steel pan is more durable, easier to service, and doesn’t require engine lifting like the OEM plastic pan does.

Q: How often should this be done?
A: ZF recommends every 50,000 to 75,000 miles to keep shifts smooth and extend the life of your transmission.
