Water Pump STC483 EFI V8 Defender RRC

  • $105.91

The STC483 water pump is a direct replacement cooling system component for Land Rover Rovers equipped with 3.5 liter (3500cc), 3.9 liter, and 4.2 liter EFI Rover V8 engines. This listing offers two options through the dropdown selector above. The standard pump is supplied with a gasket and restores factory coolant circulation using OE spec construction, a reliable and cost effective choice for a routine cooling system repair. The FlowKooler Hi Flow pump is an upgraded option with gasket built for owners who want more cooling margin, particularly on Rovers used off road, in hot climates, or with modified engines. The FlowKooler Hi Flow pump for the Rover V8 uses a CNC machined billet impeller with an increased vane count and reduced plate to impeller clearance, which allows it to achieve greater coolant flow rates, higher head pressure, and more efficient circulation than a stock design. The impeller carries a Type II Class II military grade surface coating that protects against corrosive coolant fluids over time. FlowKooler was the first manufacturer to introduce a hi flow pump design for these engines and has continued refining impeller geometry since. Increasing flow matters on a hot Rover V8 because reducing the cycle time between the engine, the heat source, and the radiator, the heat sink, gives the cooling system more opportunities to shed heat and bring temperatures down before they climb.

Over time these pumps can wear internally or develop leaks at the bearing or seal. Symptoms of a failing pump include coolant leaks, overheating, or a grinding or growling noise from the pump bearing. Both versions in this listing are supplied with a gasket and install as a direct replacement for the original unit on EFI equipped V8 engines. This pump is not designed for carbureted Rover V8 applications.

FAQ

Does this water pump include the gasket?
Yes. The pump is supplied with the installation gasket.

What is the difference between the standard pump and the FlowKooler Hi Flow pump?  The standard pump is a direct OE spec replacement that restores normal coolant circulation. The FlowKooler Hi Flow pump uses a CNC machined billet impeller with increased vane count and reduced clearance for greater flow and higher head pressure, intended for owners who want extra cooling capacity.

What are signs of a failing water pump?
Common symptoms include coolant leaks, overheating, or bearing noise from the pump.
